What is the use of Thunderbird?

Does Thunderbird work with Gmail?
Yes, Thunderbird works with Gmail. To set up Thunderbird with Gmail, you must first enable IMAP on your Gmail account. By default, your new Gmail account is IMAP-enabled. Thunderbird will download all existing messages and your Gmail will be ready to use.

Is Thunderbird POP or IMAP?
